NEENAH, WIFuture Neenah Inc., today unveiled their new visual identity for the annual StreetBall 3-on-3 basketball tournament. The new design is part of the group’s ongoing strategic effort to expand and promote the tournament statewide.

The new visual identity, developed by SPARK Advertising, was created to enhance and build awareness for the tournament and provide brand consistency in the marketing communications effort. The updated logo features impact sports’ colors—red and black with imagery to underscore the basketball theme. The new graphics are a significant milestone in the business strategy that will continue to position StreetBall as the state’s premier 3-on-3 tournament.

“As StreetBall moves forward into a new era, the new look represents a modern yet distinctive brand, which will help us grow this event for years to come,” said Robert Buckingham, Executive Director of Future Neenah Inc. “This change is timely as we take StreetBall 2010 to the next level in player participation and economic impact.”

For the past 18 years, the StreetBall tournament has attracted a growing crowd to Neenah’s downtown district. In 2009, the event drew 350 teams, 1,400 players and 10,000 spectators generating an economic impact of  $450,000 to the local community. Buckingham says the recent JEM grant from the Wisconsin Department of Tourism will expand the marketing effort for the 2010 tournament. He hopes to bring in an additional 100 teams, which will raise the economic impact to approximately $685,000.

Bob Gillespie, owner of Knox Furniture in Downtown Neenah, is a long-time volunteer and advocate for StreetBall. “I have had the opportunity to see StreetBall grow from a small tournament played on a handful of basketball courts to an event that requires more than 28 courts with hundreds of teams,” said Gillespie. “StreetBall not only brings people to our downtown to play basketball, it also exposes visitors to the many fine shops and businesses Neenah has to offer.”
